Frustrating printer July 15, 2010 AmyG 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
The printer is nice in that it's easy to set up and use; it uses cheaper ink and it takes nice scans - if you can actually get it to scan an entire document. I guess this is it's 'smart' feature coming into play, where it crops out anything it thinks isn't part of the document. I've given up using it; and I just bought it a few weeks ago. I can't get it to scan a whole document without it breaking it up into several different pieces and cropping out parts. Just today the copy feature stopped working as well. I made a mistake buying this thing - huge waste of money. At least it came with a pretty tote bag so I can conveniently carry its worthless carcass around with me.
Good Printer but Felt a Bit Cheated July 6, 2010 PKMAN (San Diego) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
HP should've waited until e-Print service is available to launch this product line. I too, like some reviewers here, bought it thinking that I'd be able to start e-printing immediately.
That being said, the printer is a nice one and WiFi connection via home wirless router was easy, albeit a bit time-consuming with installation CD need to run on multiple computers. The look, speed and print quality are all noticeably improved over my 6-yrs old PSC printer. And the price is only a bit more expensive than the D-Link wireless print server that I tried (and returned, due to diffulty to set up).
Just hoping that e-Print will be available soon, so that I can print from my iPad.
Avoid Like the Plague July 5, 2010 hdtravel (USA) 12 out of 20 found this review helpful
The highly touted ePrint feature has not yet been implemented.
- Print photos, documents and more from anywhere, anytime using email - NOT TRUE AT THIS TIME !
HP is being very deceptive. Avoid this printer and HP.
Shipped without its flagship feature??? July 5, 2010 darkxsun 11 out of 17 found this review helpful
How can you advertise an ePrint Printer without shipping with ePrint?
Beware, anyone buying this intending to print by sending documents to its email address... that feature is *not ready* but HP decided to ship these things anyway.
This is just another run-of-the-mill cheap printer you can buy anywhere for half the price until they deliver the promised features, and unfortunately they won't even tell us when that will happen.
Extremely deceptive.
HP once again promising but NOT delivering! July 2, 2010 Paul E. Seals (USA) 26 out of 34 found this review helpful
EDIT: HP turned on the eprint feature today July 15th.
Eprint function is so far working perfectly.
After using the feature for a few hours I'm raising my rating from 1 star to 3 stars.
Should be ok to buy now.
I ordered this Printer specifically because of the eprint feature that allows you to send an email to the printer that has it's own email address.
This is my FIRST HP printer.
So imagine my surprise when I found out (after I got it) that the feature "is coming soon"!
Repeated inquires to HP gets you nothing, no release dates, no anything!
As a basic printer it's ok, but just ok.
The one stand out feature that would make this printer a "little cool" would be the eprint feature which is apparently coming "some time" in the future.
Here is some advice HP, either release the feature or stop talking about it.
Apple can get away with announcing a feature and then releasing it some time later, you can't you're not Apple.
if HP does not release this feature before the 30 days return policy is up on my printer, then I'm boxing this thing up and sending it back and NEVER buying any HP product again.
IF they can't handle releasing one simple feature that they tout VERY highly when they release the product, then I'm not very confidant in their ability to do anything else.
My advice, DO NOT BUY this printer or ANY HP printer until they deliver on when they promise.
