Printer jammed after 25k pages, pages come out like waffles August 4, 2010 Josh Olivo I have 2 of these in my office and was thrilled at first, they are fast and easy to set up really. I'm not sure whats up with HP lately. I've got plenty of warranty on the printer, but they won't back it up at all. I've called in twice now to see if I can get it serviced, but no luck, they keep making an excuse that they won't take the printer back to service it. They just tell you to run the auto clean program and switch the ink cartridge. I tried changing cartridges, cleaned everything inside, but it turns all of my paper into rolled up dog eared lumps and they refuse to service it.
I'm bummed.

A nice printer, but mine had a quality issue. July 13, 2010 Dennis Wurster (Rochester, NY United States) I ordered this printer because I was looking for one which would allow me to print envelopes without having to flip a door down in the back of the printer to create a straighter paper path. I use this printer under my desk and I wanted all of the outputs to end up at the top. This model prints envelopes perfectly. It's a little louder than most printers, but it's still acceptable. The automatic duplexing feature is very nice, and will help to cut down my paper usage. I did have one issue with print quality that I'm working with HP to resolve. The printed image has a grey cast over the entire page, as if something isn't quite right with the drum. I'll be sure to come back an edit this review once I find out what the problem is. I'm not that worried about it, as I'm sure HP will make good on this. Would have liked to have wireless networking too, like some of the Brother units in this price range.
I want to give it zero stars -worst hp I ever owned June 25, 2010 P. Strickland (PA USA) I have been a fan of HP for years, but this printer has made me think it is time for a change. It is less than 1 year old but has wasted hours of my time and has been trouble almost from day one. It has a serious problem with output - it goes into these modes where it prints everything backwards or only prints large solid bars at the top of the page.
Even worse than that, it is an ink hog.
This is a very small office, we print less and less, but these cartridges last 2 months compared to 8 months with the prior printer.
NOT RECOMMENDED. I wouldn't even accept this for free!
Excellent small office printer April 24, 2010 R. L. Bishop (Chico CA USA) I got this as a replacement for an 18 month old Dell printer which failed and was told by Dell it was not worth repairing. My previous HP Laserjet III had lasted 6 years. This printer was easy to set up, is fast, economical with toner and trouble free so far. Having read many reviews I chose this HP over a similar one that is $100 cheaper and had poor reviews on quality. Worth paying a little more for this one. Best use is low - medium volume, small office / home office.
Works Fine on Mac February 14, 2010 BigBrotherAmazon (The Moon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this printer over two months and so far no problems. Satisfied with print quality and more importantly got away from being hosed with ink. As a former CEO once said, "We are not a printer company but sell ink." I am tired of getting hosed by HP and now again if the former CEO becomes gov of CA. Folks, look at TCO (total cost of ownership) and generally laser is cheaper. If you don't like this one look at another. However, satisfied and haven't found the noise or quallity problems others reported. One negative, sometimes it takes close to 3 minutes to start printing even with a full upgrade in memory.
